Trawling thru HP's site just left me more and more confused but your answer did the job:) I downloaded the software and now it seems to work fine so thanks for saving my sanity - and the window the printer was about to go thru. One other question if I may: I wanted to set some preferences, ie to set print quality on the front panel to the max 3 star all the time instead of having to select it each time and also to switch off wireless which I dont use. When I used the front panel (setup) it said 'connecting to computer' but the help screen didnt work and the msg was: Help viewer does not know how to handle the selected URL The selected URL is: file:///Library/Documentation/Help/Hewlett-Packard/Context_Help/Device_Mgr/c_device_mgr If you have any info I would be most grateful but just to have the printer working is a big relief anyway and I guess I can find the full operating instructions somewhere on HP's site?
